Hello hello! It’s been too long. Here is a little teaser for the issue of DemonDust #8 coming out this week. You might remember “DemonGun” zine, well this is the same but up/down-graded to Dust. It is still autobiographical, but is slightly less focused on being a recovering alcoholic. Perceive below, a sample page before I have dropped the text into the bubbles. Dreams of Io: Titan Skin Swap

The fourth in a series of short animations. The “Dreams of Io” are surreal meditations on astronomy, silence, and the mishmashed landscape of recent dreams. “Titan Skin Swap” features bump map & color textures of Saturn’s moon, Titan, switching places with those of Jupiter’s moon, Io. It was animated by Bernie McGovern in 2012, with audio of the Huygens Probe descending Titan by the Cassini Mission, NASA 2005 and audio of Io’s magnetosphere by the Voyager Mission, NASA 1979

The Hyperion Tardivolade

Space Bear! Inspired by Saturn’s moon Hyperion and the incredibly resilient tardigrade (or often called the Water Bear) Tardigrade derives from the Latin tardigradus (“slowly stepping”), as in tardus (“slow”) + gradior (“step, walk”) So naturally, my busted Latin skills renders Tardivolade from tardus (“slow”) + volan (“to fly”) This one is for the Hospitalized & Adorably Bored. It is by me, Bernie.
